‘A Snowstorm in The Tropics’ is Timothy J. Fairplay’s first album since 2017’s ‘Where Is The Champion?’ and the first release on his new label Dungeon Module. Made up partly of tracks popular in Timothy’s recent streamed live performances, but which have never seen full release, and completely new unheard material. Like much of Timothy’s work, it is a mix of Electro, proto-Techno, wave-y Italo and Cosmic Music recorded using only hardware from his studio in a warehouse somewhere in North London. The title track ‘A Snowstorm in The Tropics’ meanders through snow fog Berlin School melodies pinned down by a huge Dub Techno kick. ‘Fish Island Emotion’ is like a lost 80’s Italian House classic. ‘Ecstasy Nausea’ features a return to the deep wrong sample-rate voice Timothy used on the infamous ’Cleopatra Loves The Acid’.
